Default Pittsburgh?

I'll be in Pittsburgh over a long weekend in Aug. Anything fun to do right downtown/by CMU?

Find every copy of We are Family by The Pointer Sisters, set them on fire and send that song to hell where it belongs.

It would be fun and the right thing to do.

Nice.

Maybe that's the reason the Pirates are cursed. The Red Sox had the Bambino, the Cubs have the goat (and the Bartman, I guess)...the Pirates have the curse of the bad Sister Sledge song.

My reason for hating that song is because it rallied the Pirates from a 3-1 deficit to victory in the '79 World Series over the Orioles and crushed the dreams of a 15 year old kid in Sandy, Utah.

I hate that song with a passion that could black out the sun if I released it all at once.

PNC is the best new ballpark in baseball. Find a member and go play Oakmont.

I was only 7, but I remember the "We Are Family" Pirates. I was already a huge Steelers fan, so I had decided I had to cheer for all Pittsburgh teams. Stargell was my favorite player. And for some reason, I thought those ridiculous hats were cool.

I still have a little love for the Bucs, it sucks that they're so bad.

Understood. I have no ill will toward fans of the Pirates, especially those who have been fans since childhood. It's not your fault you were deceived.

I don't mind the old Pirate caps. I think they're pretty funky, though they pale in comparison to the coolness of the smilin' Oriole that the Os used to wear.

Baltimore had it's own Tekulve - Mark Belanger, though he was a SS and didn't throw sidearm.
