Is Wilson actually any good?
I would say he has the potential to be good. I think it's hard to argue that he has ACTUALLY been good this year. One more touchdown than interceptions? How many pick-sixes? How many clean crisp drives with throws down the field?
I'm actually wondering if the two guys on the bench have potential to be just as good or better. Actually, the best part of this is that it appears we may have three guys with great potential. But the funny thing to me is how so many on CB are in love with Wilson to the point that they degrade Hall. The ball looks better coming out of Hall's hand. It's a crisper throw with more velocity on the ones that require it. And with Romney, man that reminded me of actual real BYU football where they could drive down field and make catches, when the defense knew exactly what we were trying to do. Amazing for a guy who had never played before. |

Good observations about Romney. He threw his brother a lot, obviously due to the fact that they probably played together in the schoolyard or something.
I must have been watching a different game than you. The ball was totally totally wobbly coming out of Hall's hand on those short passes where the camera zooms up close.

After the Utah State game, again I'm wondering if there is any distance between Zach Wilson and the backups.
Too bad about Hall's concussions. That kid can ball. I kind of wish that we could play all 3 QBs, switching them out every couple possessions. |

I was ahead of the curve here. It's pretty clear now that he is not good.
He is a good runner, and can throw a nice ball. But making reads, going through progressions, dropback footwork, delivering the ball on time, making the right decisions, seeing receivers when he has to improvise--he is not good at all these things. If he is starts next season, and is not improved, I swear I am done. I can't handle this craptastic football anymore, esp when I know we have better QBs on the sideline. |

I am also sad about Hall's being out. Hope he returns next season.

the trajectory of the football team is taking the joy out of a life long passion, watching BYU football on Saturdays, now Thursdays and occasionally a Friday.
We don't have an offensive identity or a defensive identity. That lack of identity and lack of winning a lot of games makes watching BYU painful.

I want Romney. He reminds me of the glory days of BYU. Classic dropback on-time passer.

Mixed evidence from last night. I think he still doesn't see the field well, nor is all that accurate.
