Rivalry game prognostications
Difficult game to call.
Cougs have more experience and should be favored in light of the experience and slightly better consistency but Whit's consistency as a coach against Bronco makes me think the intangibles win out in a close game, game to the Utes. And of course, if Hall melts down, what may have started out as a close game becomes a route. Cougs should not play flat a la New Mexico, and are relatively healthy. Utes have a future star in Wynn and in seasons to come he will be a nightmare for BYU. Will his inexperience affect him Saturday? Can't tell. I see two scenarios. Utes are lethargic enough on offense and the Cougs score enough to develop enough confidence to hold on for a victory. Or Hall starts imploding and the Utes' superior coaching and speed obliterate the Cougs. In the first scenario, a 28-21 victory seems in order. In the second a 42 to 24 victory would be in order.
