Default Holy Crap it's HOT...

They don't put AC in the houses in Moscow, ID. This 104 degree weather just shouldn't be happening...

Mrs. Hippie melted... We've been camping in the basement for days.

How is everyone else dealing?

I've been sitting in 110-114 degree heat in Davis, CA for the last 4 days. They have terrible humidity there. I thought that I might actually take my own life. We returned to Redding today where it was 115 degrees with no humidity. It felt like heaven.

While this heat wave lasts we should have a daily check in to see who fried the most that day.

Our house in Provo doesn't have air conditioning or a swamp cooler. All we have is a lousy ceiling fan. That doesn't work too well. The only room that is cool is the basement, so we've rigged it up so that it's 15 degrees cooler down there than in any other room of the house. We moved our mattress down there and are sleeping on the floor with a fan pushing the cool air around. Unfortunately there is no door to close to keep the cool air down there and not spread throughout the house, so we had to go a little 'white trash' and put up a blanket up in the stair way to give us a little privacy and keep the cool air down there.

Luckily my office has air conditioning and I can stay nice and cool here at work.

On Saturday it was a record high of 99 in San Diego, 23 above normal. La Mesa is only 8 miles inland and hit an all-time high of 109.

But it's the humidity putting everything over the top. I was in Tijuana where the temperature was 104, with a heat index of 118.

We are not wusses here, we do not have AC in this damn state. Portland sucks in the summer because there are always these heat waves and then you do not have AC, it is brutal.
