Ashcroft says waterboarding is not torture
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/07/...ing/index.html
I really don't get this line of thinking. So if got a suspect into the bathroom and repeatedly dunked his head in the water, to the point of having to almost resuscitate him, that is not torture? And this is the God-fearing Christian man we are supposed to respect. Go to hell John Ashcroft, and soon. |

It seems that Ashcroft is saying that if something yields very useful information, it is not torture.
Yikes! Remind me not to piss off John Ashcroft. If Ashcorft had a child in combat and that child were captured and waterboarded, I guess Ashcroft would simply recognize it as an advanced interrogation technique that yielded good info for the enemy?

It isn't, as per the Hitchens standard.

It takes a completely immoral man to get up there and call torture non-torture if it suits his interest.
This is really what the Bush Administration is all about and why it is held in lowest regard of any administration in modern history. |

Actually I don't think this is the reason Bush and Co. have such low marks, I think it has more to do with the fact we are in Vietnam Part Deuce.

If we can be off of fossil fuels in ten years like Gore says all of this will be over. The Arabs will return to the stone age, their oil used exclusively for lamps.
