Can you imagine the finger pointing and recriminations if the democrats blow this? There should be. They deserve to lose because they have used the universal loathing for the Bush administration to arrogantly indulge every extremist fantasy. The Biden selection was the personification. Obama's convention speech the apotheosis, a deliberate and unapologetic throw back to the politics of Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Hoffa, and Smoot-Hawley.

An Obama presidency is a fairy tale. And more of the Grimm Brothers type.

I was struck by the nasty hateful attacks on John Kerry by his own party after the last election fiasco.

You're channeling Bill Clinton quite effectively.

The press will spin it that Hillary could have won. Their agenda will stay in tact. People want the liberal agenda they will say, they just haven't found the right candidate to win with it.
If ever there was a time a liberal could win, it would be now. If they don't win now they better go back to people like Bayh, Rendell and other non-liberal dems if they want to win the Whitehouse. They should learn from the Republicans. When do they run an extreme conservative. Even Reagan wasn't a religious right card carrying member. |

This is a time of war, and in our recent history, that favors the GOP.
The only reason the dems are favored is 1) Bush has been a horrible president, and 2) the GOP congress was horrible. |

It is the economy stupid. If we had a roaring economy Obama wouldn't have a prayer. McCain probably wouldn't be running for President either.

Smoot-Hawley still makes my blood boil.

The mantra ought to be throw all the bums out and start again: president, and congress, both parties. They all stink.
