I went through a small Rush phase in high school. But Rush doesn't really do it for me. Rush is like music that you can appreciate intellectually, but it does not move the loins, if you know what I mean.
However, if Red Barchetta or Tom Sawyer come on the radio, time to turn the volume dial to 11. |

I went into a Rush phase in 1984 and never came out of it. The mid/late 80s Rush was miserable, but there was plenty of 1794-1984 rush to hold over until 1992.
Their latest is easily their best album ever. Better than Moving Pics, Signals, 2112. Concert was incredible. |

How great of an achievement is Princeton or Harvard?
Interesting how we all judge "success" differently. |

Rush made it into the R&R HOF. Whatever. Our minds are not for rent to any god, government or some stupid Rolling Stone-sponsored popularity club.
But this has instigated a new round of "Rush sucks" nonsense. I unfortunately wandered over to CUF and those morons are in a fresh debate of whether or Rush sucks or not. There's massive amounts of music I don't care for. I don't think I've ever thought characterize a band as "sucking" however. It's just juvenile and stupid. Why not say "i don't like it" or "i don't care for their music"? Coldplay? I don't care for them. The Dandy Warhols? I don't care for them. Iggy Pop? I don't care for him. See, isn't that easy? |
