Default LOST--did Sun's lover commit suicide?

Being the LOST geek I am, I usually read the LOST posts on the usatoday blog.

http://blogs.usatoday.com/popcandy/2...alk_lost_.html

A common theory was that Sun's lover didn't commit suicide but was thrown out by Sun's father or someone there to finish the job.

Also I see RedDizzle asked the same question

My answer:

Come on people, how easy is this. The guy had huge guilt over what happened. Jin had shown him mercy, and that made him feel even more guilty. Faced with his choices for life and with all that guilt, the suicide was a no-brainer. Also, the whole Asian culture "honor" thing plays into it. Holding onto the necklace was an acknowledgement of guilt or at least showing what was on his mind when he jumped. There's nothing to theorize here. Very obvious--he jumped.

That aspect is deliberately vague.....just like the whole show. No one knows if he jumped or not. It'll probably be revealed sometime before the 25th Century.

No, not deliberately vague. Come on. Jin shows him mercy. Crushing guilt. Asian honor/family shame theme. Holding the necklace. There's no question.

Sun did it so that Jin wouldn't have the guilt of killing him. She figured she had made the mess and she'd clean it up.

My thoughts as well. I think Sun did it. She's not as clean as she appears. That seems to be a major theme with those on the island.

Pretty interesting video. And I like the Sun theory and, yes, she is hot.
