Will they be allowed to live with widows? This would be the most easily accomplished arrangement in my ward.
Also, how do meals work? If I were hosting missionaries, I would tell them "the doors will be locked between 9:30am and 9:30pm. That's when you do your work." They would love me. No rest for the wicked in my house. |

Meals still worked the same for missionaries that lived with members in our mission. They had a meal calendar and would eat with different members each night.

I think Surfah33 is right. When they made the announcement in our ward, it sounded like they were looking for houses with a completely separate living quarters.

When I visited my friend in California on her mission she and her companion had the spare bedroom and I think they had their own bathroom. They shared the kitchen. They bought their own food and labeled it. It was not separate living quarters at all really.

It will be rare for people to have separate quarters. In other words, they couldn't expect every ward or maybe not even a majority of wards to be able to host missionaries.

THis will make for some interesting dynamics when a member decides to kick the missionaries out due to bad behavior.
No rent, no contract, I presume. Or will the church insist on a contract? For me, one bad apple, and I am done. It might actually give ward members power to transfer out missionaries they don't like. |

One or two lawsuits and the church will not ask this at all of it's members.

You know, if missionaries were messing around and burned down my house killing one of my children, I would sue the church.
Ok, can't say for sure I would, but I think I would feel JUST FINE doing so, and expect to remain a member in good standing as well. |

No, this is different than in times previous. My parents are in a trial area (and are of the target age group) and the conditions are very open. I'm going off memory, but I believe all that is required is that they have their own bedroom and bathroom facilities. They would share the same kitchen space, and the same entrance/exit.
