This may come off bad but I hate BYU fans!
I absolutely cant stand 99% of them. They are not knowledgable, they are the biggest homers on the face of the planet, they only see things one way. It is getting on my last nerve. Cb is full of them. The worst part about it is that it has carried over to most Jazz fans over there as well. BRJ8 is the epitome of a zoob.
It just gets on my nerves when you try to talk sports, and you sound like a complete douche bag. Please do some research before you try and talk to me on my level when it comes to sports. I know I may sound like a sports snob but i dont try and talk about computer programming and global warming with you, so dont talk football, or basketball with me. y If you are wrong admit it, and move on, dont argue a point that makes no sense and is just making you look dumber by the minute. If you go to a game WATCH IT! It is not a social event, it is not relief society, it is not time to study. Do that shit at home on your own time dont distract me from watching the game because you are turned around the whole damn time taking pictures with your friends and talking about the cute boy/girl in biology. Pay attention, when someone scores do not and i mean do not ever say "What just happened" I know the Utes have some fans like this as well but they just seem to have it together a little bit more. Sorry rant over, carryon.

All teams have fans like that. The zoots are as bad as the zoobs, it's just that there are more zoobs than zoots, so odds are, you'll have to endure the zoobs moreso than the zoots.

Wow, ulcer alert
I'm a big sports fan, but I don't expect the girls behind me at the stadium to be as knowledgeable about the game or care as much about the game as I do.
Sure, I guess you have a point about people not arguing points they can't back up over on CB, buy your rant on fans at the stadium is pretty ridiculous. Your ideal seems to be a stadium filled to the brim with die hard fans that don't distract each other during the game...never happening in Provo. Totally unrealistic, and as for me, I'd rather a full stadium of casual fans than an empty stadium with 200 die hard fans paying close attention to all the action. There are plenty of Coogs I would never hang out with, but your claim that you can't stand 99% of them is incredibly unreasonable, if true. If it's true, and not just hyperbole to appear scandalous for your internet buddies, it makes me question you more than the Coug fan base. I have more Ute friends than Coug friends, so it's not like I don't get what you're saying, but you're way over the top in your message. Care to revise or tone it down a bit? |

I think you may have overstated it a bit as far as facts go. Perhaps you were just speaking from emotion though and then one is allowed to go way overboard.
The only thing I find much different in BYU fans and other fans is the "moral" play. I often giggle when I hear a kid, who chose BYU over say USC, shows a level of maturity and integrity that the other kid didn't. Of course both TBS and CB are set up to promote the higher moral ground BYU fans have over all others. My all time favorite though is, I would rather lose all of the games and have no honor code violations. I am having a hard time following this board's format. Let's see if this works. I will feel I have really succeded if someone copies this post and then puts it on CB like they did yours. Last edited by BYU71; 06-13-2007 at 02:24 PM. |

FTR, my fellow fans drive me bananas, too. For slightly different reasons, but the homer victimization complex is accurate.
But what really gets me is the "we've never really lost a game" mentality. Always an excuse at the ready to explain any loss...usually the refs. I kid you not they still talk about a missed holding call from BEFORE I WAS BORN. You'd be amazed to learn you can lose a game by twenty points and it's still the refs' fault. |

You're giggling at the truth. An athlete choosing BYU over another school not only demonstrates wisdom and good judgment, but maturity and class. At BYU he will be regaled with Primary songs by a jubilant studentbody, where at other schools he will delve into a lifetime of sin and inactivity. I see nothing wrong with BYU fans point out this FACT.
