Lunardi has BYU in the NIT
As I feared, BYU relegated to dungeons of college basketball. We are now Utah, playing where nobody wishes to play. One year after a good year, we are no likely relegated to purgatory.

I'm seeing conflicting info regarding Lunardi's predictions. Just this afternoon he allegedly told Jay Drew he thinks BYU will fill one of the "new first round" (teams #65-68) spots that the NCAA expanded to last season. See http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/blogsby...think.html.csp
(fwiw, Lunardi accurately picked 65 of last year's 68 teams) |

I wouldn't complain about not getting to the dance. This team didn't earn it. They can only hope to be gifted it.

This team would consider a Tourney bid, a huge gift.

Louisville Region:
Tuesday: #14 BYU vs #14 Iona Thursday: winner plays #3 Marquette Saturday: winner plays #6 Murray State / #11 Colorado State winner Tough draw, but still better than being in the NIT, even as a high seed, no? |

Marquette will most likely defeat the #14 seed though I am not that impressed by Marquette this year. The entire Big East sans Syracuse is down from last year. Nonetheless expect to see the winner of Tuesday's game to go down Thursday. Yes, this is better than the NIT.

The thing I liked the most: Washington won the Pac-12 and didn't get an invite.
3 WCC teams and 4 MWC teams made the tourney. 2 from the PAC-suck. Back to BYU, I hope Carlino grows up in a hurry. He is killing the team with his gunning, bad defense, and turnovers. A lot of potential and talent, but he needs to stop trying to be a hero. But in reality, I don't blame Carlino for this. I blame Rose for giving Carlino too much leash. He needs to real this guy in because he is almost off the reservation. |

One of the ESPN bloggers is predicting a BYU loss. Because of BYU's bad defense. No one here would be shocked if BYU got blown out.
Lunardi is also saying that this is the worst seeding for an at-large team that he can ever recall. And says maybe it is because of the no-Sunday thing. |

What makes me smile is BYU is having a very off year for Rose, yet we still make the Tourney. If he can sign some players we should start expecting regular first and maybe second round wins.
