Top 10 unintentionally funny sitcom intros...
This is a great list...and if you notice, these are almost all from the 1980s. Special shout out to the greats 'Charles in Charge' and 'Alf' though 'Small Wonder' should have been on the list. Great intros and pretty funny commentary: http://bricksexplode.blogspot.com/20...tv-intros.html

Looking back on it, how was ALF ever a popular TV show? Puppet/alien living with suburban family?
I don't get it. |

If your plot-lines revolve around gross failures of architectural design, and extraterrestrial bladder control, it's probably time to close the show. |

NO! I'm never going to get the theme song of "Charles in Charge" out of my head now.

The funny thing about '80's family sitcoms is the common theme of a unique and unexpected houseguest.
Alf- Alien houseguest Mr. Belvedere- British butler Charles In Charge- College student male nanny Who's the Boss- Male maid with his daughter Fresh Prince- Hip-hop nephew Small Wonder- Robot daughter Different Strokes- Two adopted African-American kids from Harlem Full House- Bachelor comedian friend and rocker Uncle Jessie Webster- Another adopted African-American kid My Two Dads- A pre-adolescent girl of unidentified paternity Family Matters- A nerdy next door neighbor Perfect Strangers- A foreigner cousin from the ficticious island of Mepos. Not only have these sitcoms failed the test of time, but what middle class family could ever afford a nanny/butler/housekeeper? Especially absurd is the number of shows dedicated to the ill-fitting servant. |
