Romney campaign, who else has the incentive?
Meanwhile, if they haven't dug any dirt on Romney, there probably isn't any.

Everyone who thinks they have a chance has an incentive--most likely Perry, Cain, and Romney.
Hell, maybe even Obama. As Gingrich, despite his faults, is not one of the BSC candidates. |

I think the Romney campaign is the least likely to have initiated this attack. Of the existing candidates he is the least threatened by a Gingrich resurgence; and in fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see Gingrich considered seriously for a Romney VP.

Yes, I could also see a Romney/Gingrich ticket happening. I would love to see a Gingrich vs. Biden debate.
Gingrich has been very careful not to step on the toes of anyone. One gets the sense he has been running for VP from the beginning. |

I don't disagree, but it's not my biggest complaint with Gingrich. (I have others.)

Newt's insider dealings will be the political death of him.
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1111/68514.html He was a "strategic advisor", i.e. he was not a registered lobbyist, he was the guy who advises the registered lobbyists. I'm not saying that is a terrible thing. I'm just saying that you can't lie about it and get a free pass. |
