Dan Vogel says that church history records show that Emma
was ordained to the priesthood.
Says that reference to it was deleted in the printed church history book back in the day. This is on facebook, was pointed out to me. Dan Vogel wrote a biography of Joseph Smith with the "pious fraud" thesis. He's certainly not a FAIR acolyte. It's interesting that when you go back and look at church history, how things were very different, often not that long ago. The role of women has changed a lot. And now we are going to get back into debates about modern Mormonism vs. original Mormonism (i.e. Joseph Smith Mormonism). |

Great if he's right. Dan Vogel is a nice guy, we are FB friends, even though I find his methodology to be whacked.

I glanced at his FB page. He seems to be pretty vehement about what a fraud JS is/was. He sure doesn't seem to be a "these are the facts, let the chips fall where they may" type.

He sticks to his fraud thesis fervently, but only for professional reasons. He has no anti- agenda. Doesn't talk to "true believers" because he doesn't want to disrupt "happy" people.
