Default Best or Favorite Book You Read in 07:

For me it was "The Kite Runner". I really liked the story telling style and the many themes presented and how they were presented. For some reason the story resonated with me. I'm looking forward to the movie.

I also enjoyed "The Peacegiver". I'm not one prone to read much in the way of "Church Books", but this one had been recommended to me by a few different people, so I finally gave in and liked the different angles of how applicable the Atonement can be in our lives, if we just take a few minutes to sit back and see that it's not only for us, but for those we love and are struggling to maintain relationships with.

Most frustrating book is one I'm reading right now..."The Historian".....the author is really taken with herself and fawning over herself. It's a sloooooooow moving book. Generally I have a rule that whatever book I start reading that I always finish it, even if I'm not liking it....but I'm about to put this one away for good.

The Kite Runner was very good.

My favorite novel of 2007 was The Road.

Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters by Meg Meeker, M.D., stated the following:

1) I am my daughter's first love;

2) I am her hero;

3) The most important thing in her life will be for me to be proud of her;

4) When she rebels, a large factor is because she wants to know if I think she is worth fighting for;

5) She will compare every boyfriend to me;

6) She will want to marry a man just like me; and

7) To teach her self-respect early, for example, "When she is three, begin telling her that her body is beautiful and she needs to keep it special."

I had a friend recommend that book. Just picked up a copy.

Is there a book like that but for Fathers and Sons?

How to Make Love Like a Porn Star by one Ms. Jenna Jameson. I really liked the story telling style and the many themes presented and how they were presented. For some reason the story resonated with me.

If you don't have time to read the book, I suggest you pick up a copy of "Philmore Butts: Taking Care of Business." It's pretty much the same story with a bit more filling of butts action than was contained in the book. I debated whether I needed to add an "if you know what I mean." Thoughts?

H.W. Brand's biography of Andrew Jackson and "A Crack at the Edge of the World" by Simon Winchester were both surprisingly good despite the noticeable absence of hot girl-on-girl action.

FYI, "How to Make Love Like a Porn Star" is available for $21.45 at cougarguard books. And if you order within the next 23 hours you'll get it by Dec. 20th. A great way to support the site.
