More insight into Brokeback mountain....
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...nderson/060116
This provides more info into why LHM pulled it, or at least the circumstances around it. I also think that this may give some validation to my original point on making decisions that actually bring more attention to something that you probably wanted to squash.... |

The writer is stating his opinon and it is only that - his opinion. Only Miller knows the true reason why the movie wasn't screened.
I'm jsut curious why folks can't let a business owner run his business as he sees fit. If folks want to see Brokeback Mountain, they still can, as it's being shown in other theaters. I've posted it once and will do so again: if Miller was Jewish and in another state, nobody would have cared about this at all. And the NBA, IMO, was wrong to punish Fortson for his comments, because he hurt nobody with those comments.

To me, its a real stretch discussing this on a sports(ESPN) website. I don't know if he got a 'free pass' or not but I do know that he pulled a movie in a theater he owned and did so without comment. The rest is conjecture. |
