You may also someday need health care. Do you think everyone in this country who is without health care planned on losing their insurance coverage? So why aren't you willing to pay for that? If your standard for being ok with paying taxes is that you could get some benefit out of it, then all that sounds like is you are in favor of policies that shift the national resources towards you (i.e., make you LESS self-reliant).

When did fiscal responsibility such a liberal idea? Republicans are responsible for the vast majority of the national debt, because they love to spend and hate to raise taxes. Why do you think spending imaginary money is superior to spending actual money?

Nevermind the fact that the greatest additions (by FAR) to the national debt came during Reagan's and Bush II's administrations, and during Bush II's administration, he did it with his party controlling both houses of Congress.

But fear the Democrats!!! They want our money to help poor people! The tyranny! What ever happened to just giving it to rich people and corporations? Those were the good ol' days before the Dems ruined everything.
Don't go freaky on me, I'm just asking how he's going to address the issue of new taxes. If the Repubs have spent us into oblivion, how does he plan to explain how he will he get us out and pay for these things at the same time? The question will come up. Will he answer it honestly and lose, or hedge? What would you suggest?

I'm just asking how he plans to address the issue when it comes up in a national campaign.

LOL. No really, I actually laughed out loud at this.

Obama fever has officially driven Cali straight into Democratic looney land. Maybe we should call it an Obagasm.

Ah yes, the "what if it happens to you" game.

Part of my planning for retirement is to allocate a rather large percentage for use if I need health care. It's not that hard to do. Which leads me to ask:

Why would I ever plan on not being self-reliant?

Answer the same question about Romney or any of the other repubs. Surely you agree that they would also have to raise taxes?

Could you at least call it an Obamagasm so it makes sense?

Planning on self-reliance does not, as many Americans have found, actually mean becoming self-reliant. To pretend that it is all within your control is absurd and dishonest.

Well, Repubs always lie about such things and get elected.

This is a thread about Obama. Just answer the question. Or is this how Obama will address it?
