This doesn't matter. It's ok if liberals want a Republican to fail, but how dare a conservative want the same for a Democrat.

You should know this Tex.

They would have also been stupid to wish for their president to fail.

Given Fox's polling reputation, I think it is a safe bet that their numbers are highly exaggerated. Their poll says that 7% of Republicans also wanted Bush to fail. Yeah. Ok.

You don't think there some of the GOP (talking primarily about fiscal policies) weren't really, really upset with Bush? LOL

Heh, what a great article. I'd love to see Paglia debate some of the folks on CG/CUF.

Quote:
Case in point: The orchestrated attack on radio host Rush Limbaugh, which has made the White House look like an oafish bunch of drunken frat boys. ... As a student of radio and a longtime listener of Rush's show, I have gotten a wealth of pleasure and insight from him over the years. ... Rush isn't responsible for the feebleness of Republican voices or the thinness of Republican ideas. Only ignoramuses believe that Rush speaks for the Republican Party.
And one would almost think she's been lurking here, reading Cali's posts.

Another interesting comment:

Quote:
President Obama -- in whom I still have great hope and confidence -- has been ill-served by his advisors and staff. ... President Obama should yank the reins and get his staff's noses out of slash-and-burn petty politics. His own dignity and prestige are on the line.
While that may be, it serves to support the idea that Obama is Too Big To Fail. If his administration screws up, it's not Obama's fault, it's staff. That'll fly for a while, I suppose, while his presidency is young. But I suspect he has more to do with the mistakes than Paglia is willing to admit.

Paglia seems to forget that Obama chose his staff. Their failings are his failings. If they are incompetent, he should have chosen more wisely.

Paglia is totally off base here. What has been the effect of the Rush episode? A renewed focus on the total lack of traditional party leadership of the Republican Party, a discussion that highlighted the insane influence Rush has on the party, a renewed focus on Rush's eccentricity, the demise of the chair of the RNC, and lots of Republican infighting. In exchange for what? Gibbs saying the discussion was "counterproductive?" Yeah- chalk that up to a huge political win for Obama's team.

He may be.

But posting links to left-wing sites isn't going to convince me that you and Obama are right about anything.
