Presidencies are always at least 3 people.

I happen to work fairly closely with the Scout Committee Chair, who is a woman. I am the scoutmaster.

I don't have a problem with this kind of arrangement.

Nor do I, but having served in the scouting program for a while, I've spent very little alone time with the scout committee chair. I think it would be different if the Bishop and his attractive female second counselor in the bishopric were at the church late alone because the 1st counselor had sick kids to take care of and couldn't make it. Just seems like you would be playing with fire in that scenario.

Maybe I've seen it happen too often, I don't know.

then cancel the meeting, or do it over the phone.

If people could be disciplined enough to make good decisions, it likely wouldn't be a problem.

Or if the phone won't work, one can always meet in a motel room.

Maybe we should force all the women to wear burqas. Would that make you happy?

Men are not trusted in the church around primary kids. There is now a policy, straight from the first presidency, prohibiting men from being primary teachers, unless there is another man co-teaching, or his wife is also teaching. With the exception if the ward is very small and can't otherwise function.

Fear of pedophiles is at the root of it, I think.

I'm just throwing out the idea that sexuality is at the root of many of these positions/policies.
Mike, you never did answer my question. you're not going to, I take it?

And I don't know how your ward works, but I've never been in one where the Primary presidency has any one-on-one contact with children. And primary teachers, even female, are supposed to have partners, presumably to guard against charges of inappropriate behavior. Bishops, on the other hand, meet with children alone and counsel adult women alone all the time.

taken to the extreme it is kind of demeaning. However, the priesthood I think does give the responsibility to serve in the church and does keep many men focused on their church responsibilities more than they otherwise would be, IMO. We're a much, much more involved church membership than what you'll find at your local evangelical, baptist, methodist, or whatever congregation, and the way the priesthood works in our church is a huge reason why.
