Yes - and in family wards it can be depressing to dig beneath the covers (no pun intended Goat). If you assume the average YM and YW spending is around $100/head, there is little left for adult activities.

We have both singles and marrieds in our ward - it's just people affiliated with the University. I don't remember very many singles running it; mostly mother-of-two types. We caught lots of $#!+ from the bishopric about limited participation, but everyone (but the committee who knew what the people wanted) was surprised that about 75 people turned out for the run.
