I do wonder how I'd react if this happened to a key football/basketball player. I probably would be sober enough to realize they weren't kicked out for church attendance, but I may have kept that opinion to myself in hopes I was wrong.

Hall or Cummard, good luck Bishop on getting them booted. That fact probably pisses some Bishops off. |

The funny thing is I believe you think that's true.

Yes, you're the brilliant one Smails. Just make up a story that fits with your ideas and go with that. The kid must have slept with his girlfriend people. Nothing to see here, move on.

Solid guess. I found a Bishop that I knew, lied about where I lived, and moved into his ward. I suppose I can blame BYU for the lying.

I think Smails' theory is a good one, and it's what I first thought when I read the story. I'm not gonna automatically assume it and side with the bishop/stake prez, but that's kinda what I thought. The whole thing is just too illogical. Kids just don't get kicked out of BYU unless there's something pretty serious going on. But all we have right now is the new article and the father's side of the story.

Most mainstream members will do this: Assume the bishop is correct and the kid is lying. Assume it was a sexual morality issue, and forever brand the kid. When in reality, checking behind the scenes sources reveals it really is an attendance issue and a power struggle between a silly kid and a mullah bishop.
