Either Hill will somehow snap out of it in this game and actually play like he understands the offense, or there is going to be a switch made at some point tomorrow is my prediction. We'll see.
I will add to this that Ty is doing him a great favor. The chances of Hill making it to the NFL probably weren't great to begin with after all the injuries, but were completely non-existent if he arrived at a training camp having never learned certain skills NFL teams are looking for. They like athleticism, but they also need someone who can run an NFL offense. It's been telling that the commentators in each game so far have talked about how Hill needs to learn how to place the ball where the receiver is going to be rather than wait for him to be open before he throws. That is what NFL teams expect and what Ty would like for Hill to learn how to do. You don't have to learn that skill if your running has been your main thing throughout your career, I guess.

there are 50 quarterbacks college now that are better pro prospects than Hill. And most of them will never sniff the NFL.

Agreed. But Hill has the physical tools. If he had learned how to be a real quarterback earlier in his career instead of just an exciting runner who happens to take snaps and sometimes puts the ball in the air, he would have had a shot I think.

His tools:
Size and athleticism. Strong enough arm. Like I said, he's basically Tebow. Except now he doesn't really have very good athleticism. He could never seen the field nor make accurate throws into windows. In other words, he can't pass. And now he's super old and obviously injury prone. His market value is less than zero. |
