More reason to vote for McCain, eh Cali?

Why? It was Obama's idea. He brought the idea forward to the Senate Federal Financial Management Subcommittee and proposed the bill. Senator Coburn is the chair of that subcommittee, and he agreed to co-author the bill. Senator McCain was initially very upset at not having been included on the bill, because he was trying to make this his issue in the campaign. He was invited on as a co-sponsor as well.

I still think it's disingenuous to call it "Obama's plan".
It isn't disingenuous. What is disingenuous is what you said about his plan (that the only thing he had done was sign a pledge for transparency as president). Obama initiated the bill. He brought it to the Senate subcommittee and got Coburn's support (Coburn chairs that subcommittee, which is why his name came first on the bill). You want to give credit everywhere except where it is due.

Ok, it was Obama's idea. But he apparently needed other names attached to it in order to legitimize it as he lacked experience and credibility amongst his Senate peers.

"Mr. Coburn, sir? Would you mind helping me pass my first bill?"

He needed the name of the Senate chairman of the committee responsible for that type of bill who was a Republican. The bill required bipartisan support for passage, and Coburn was the logical candidate.

Your reasons given are hardly the reasons he used a co-sponsor. Rather, the real reasons are the same reason everyone uses co-sponsors (very little legislation is sponsored by just one Senator). McCain-Kennedy and McCain-Feingold weren't paired up because the proponents "lacked credibility and experience."

Do people even look stuff up anymore, or do they just go off of what the media tells them?

The media told me that?

No, I just wanted to rile you up.

It wasn't his first bill. It was approximately his 40th, not that you care to be accurate.

I don't really care if it was his 1st or his 40th, the man is totally underqualified.

And round we go. We have an issue, Tex makes a false statement about that issue, he gets called on it, then goes to a different broader issue also without any substance. Well played. Again.
