We were in the Nice ward in 2003. We enjoyed that quite a bit.

What did you do with yourself with all that time on your hands?

I spent my last four months in Nice (again, I can't complain about that). The chapel is situated about 100 yards from a Roman-era amphitheater (or what's left of it) and the house (now a museum) of Matisse. The bike ride up that hill, though, is a cast-iron bitch. There are sections where it is so steep that it's quicker to get off your bike and carry it up the stairs that cross the switchbacks. The ride down, however, was unforgettable.

We road our bikes up that way and had fun. The missionaries were very nice people.

We knocked doors or street-contacted all day. It was hell, but at least the sun was shining. Occasionally we'd get service projects or sports days going, but it was mostly just wandering around.

I think that my four months in Arles steered me into Classics, though, since I spent so much time wandering that old Roman city. Silver lining, I guess, but I don't doubt that this experience contributed to my overall cynicism toward all things LDS.

How can absorb French culture and not become cycnically inclined? German and French culture have colored me more cynically than my normal sunny nature.

I should mention that Nice was one of the few places where the members had us over for dinner every week or two. This member was my favorite to visit

i had a month with 7 baptisms, but there isn't a response to the poll for that figure. you left a gap for 5-10.

I've got another question: what's the smallest amount of time between the time you met a non-member and you taught them the discussions and then baptized them?

I'm pretty sure I've got everyone beat on this one: about 10 hours.

We had 12 scheduled for baptism in one month and all 12 dropped off.
