I would like to see the Californians take over. We would skip right over the hoped for 2 hour block into an optional 1 hour meeting.

I grew up in Utah and have some pioneer ancestry. Does that give my views more credibility? ;-) I love Utah and miss a lot of things about it, not the least of which is going to BYU games. But somehow the stereotypes ring true to me. Maybe that's one reason I don't live there anymore...well that, and the fact that in Texas a young middle class guy like me doesn't have to get buried in debt way beyond my comfort level to buy a half decent house.

Like all good stereotypes, there is an element of truth. And a bigger element of exaggeration.

I used to live in Texas. Everyone loved to bash on Utah Mormons. It was the official ward blood sport. But all of the worst Utah basher have since moved to Utah. Every single one. Such irony.

Texas is great. Where do you live?

Most Texans have never even heard of Utah. So there is not much point in bashing it.

That might be true of Texans in general. To them, Texas is the center of the universe and everywhere else is irrelevant. I suspect most of them would struggle to pick out Utah on a map.

Of course, for some Texans identifying a map might be difficult enough, except to spit upon.

I think SIEQ is correct to term it a fundamentalist movement (rather than strictly 'fanatic.') The move towards retrenchment has been well documented (Mauss).

Br. McCoy will remind them that there is no party registration in Texas. Won't work.

Exceedingly well expressed.
