Because I see him as a threat to our way of life. He could change the landscape and so I fear his presidency. There could be nothing to hold him back from demagoguery.

I'm growing to detest him.

I believe life begins at conception. The law as it's written today may disagree with me, but I will always consider abortion murder.

Just nit-picking.
True, but how many women make the conscience choice to miscarry?

No.

It is a means to prevent pregnancy, not terminate it.

Actually...(am i getting annoying yet?)

in up to 20% of cases, the pill functions to prevent implantation, not fertilization. There are many women who still ovulate on the pill. I think if more women knew this, they might be a little more hesitant to start the pill.

Not annoying at all. In fact, my wife was on the pill when she became pregnant with our two oldest kids.

as I understand it, most birth control pills are of the "low dose" estrogen variety which often prevent implantation of the ovum while not preventing actual conception.

Yeah, it definitely fails occasionally. I'm saying in 20% of the cases where it works (i.e. no pregnancy), it is preventing a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus. Doesn't affect my view of the pill, but I guarantee there are women on the pill out there who would object to preventing pregnancy in this way. Most women think it prevents the release of eggs (and therefore the fertilization of eggs).

Exactly. Although I'm not sure the level of estrogen really affects the mechanism.
