White people are weird about how much money they make and who they vote for. They'll tell you about sex with their wife before they'll tell you how much they make.

Where did I say it's against my principles to accept it? I said I don't think the rebates are a good idea, meaning I don't think they will have much effect on the economy. I know you love to distort people's viewpoints, but come on...

I don't expect many Democrats to cash that check...
because they are really interested in balancing the budget and everyone knows supply side doesn't work.
This so-called stimulus package is probably the dumbest move I've seen politicians make. It's the perfect example of big governement run amok. |

If you're married with a SAHW you'd have to be making some serious coin to not get the rebat. I am in the "Yes" group much to the dismay of many around here.

I won't get it, so perhaps it is easier for me to say it shouldn't be issued, but it seems like a bad idea to me.
If the purpose is economic stimulus, then the money needs to actually stimulate the economy. If you want to stimulate the economy, money needs to go to the poor, since they have to spend it. If you give it to the middle class, it is likely to find its way into savings or debt reduction. |

At least we know the liquor industry will be stimulated.

Does it matter? Wife does not work. I know 150k seems like alot of money but the result of living in SoCal and owning a home makes me feel right smack dab in the middle class. Last edited by Flystripper; 02-08-2008 at 10:05 PM. |

True, I will use it more wisely than the government - they're idiots. If they want to refund me some of my taxes paid, that's their problem, I shouldn't feel guilty about it. Thanks Mike, I feel better already!
