I agree about wife and kids, though I believe that Mike was more making a little dig at Aaron than his wife as based on Aaron's own words concerning his wife. Notice what Aaron himself say about her:

Aaron, my wife is my equal partner. Not my servant.

Usually Evangelicals are referring to servant of God in a reference like that.

I'm going to have to ask you to remove that part about my wife. I don't mind you speaking ill of me, but I object to the slander of my wife. Ironically, as I read your post, I had just finished eating the breakfast she so kindly made me. My wife is a beautiful woman, a wonderful friend, a close helpmate, and a great mother. I love her and care about her honor.
Maybe the reason you keep getting personal attacks from Mormons is the way that you go about teaching? Maybe instead of denigrating the Mormon religions as your means of teaching, you could let your religions own teachings speak for themselves. If you used that method I am sure you would not have nearly as many personal attacks. Just a thought.

I'd agree with you if the sentence didn't end with "to me". I'd agree that there's no reason to bring up the guy's wife. But in this instance, Mike was only mocking Aaron.

I found it particularly amusing though that a man would come here, mock what we believe and then ask for a post of his to be censored because it hurt his feelings. Get over it Aaron.

I thought it was obvious that I hold Aaron's wife in the highest esteem, given that I depict her resenting and mocking him. I don't know how I could be more complimentary. Someone help me out here.

I have read Aaron's posts and I have read Mike's. I think that Aaron will shortly discover that he is bringing a butterknife to a tank fight. Good lad, but probably fighting a bit of an uphill battle here, even if Mike involves aaron's good wife.

I am often reminded of the great American philosopher Doc Holliday who replied to Ike: "I don't know Ike, perhaps poker just ain't your game...Maybee we should try something else, howabout a spelling contest?"

So is aaron gonna be Mike's huckelberreh?

If you see a distant figure in the darkness, standing on a hill, silhouetted by the moon, sword in hand....and as you get closer, you detect the faint licking of flames from that sword, red at the base, blue and white at the tip, you will know that it is I, who have come to visit truth and holiness upon you.

I thought the above was Jimmy Flinders...growing tall..growing tall with glory streaming from their feet as the go and a silver lining in their eyes...They are the brave, the true that are saved for Saturday, these are the last days of the world, they are they for Saturday.....

Personally, I thought the worldly chicks were pretty damn hot, perhaps bown bicha bown bown could happen at the BYU.....

You will forever be Brother John D. Lee to me and the truth shall set you free.

I'll be glad to turn this into a discussion about Christ and the Church.

My wife is a servant to me in the incredible role she plays in making a complimentary marriage work. The Biblical portrait of marriage is one of humble leadership and glad submission. The wife submits to the husband as the church submits to Christ. Ironically, the leadership role of the husband is identified with Christ serving the church. It's a beautiful thing when put into practice, and it has more to do to with relationships and roles than inequality. It in measure reflects the eternal relationship in the Trinity: the Father and the Son are equal in deity and nature (and even ontological being), but the Son eternally submits to the Father (this is classical Trinitarianism).

Quote:
Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.
Submitting to a husband was never intended to a burden, and neither was submitting to Christ. This works in marriage when both are seeking the joy of each other.

1st Corinthians 14
Quote:
34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
Unlike you guys, we don't take the entire Bible literally. And we don't believe in your version of the Trinity. But you already knew that.
