There may as well be no border! Immigrants will destroy America! Obama hates Jesus- AND America! There will soon be one united US and Mexico!

Who knew there was a Chicken Little forum.

I do have some sympathy for the illegals. I know a few in fact. I don't blame them for coming or wanting a better life. I just don't think it is sustainable. Moreover, I am not very keen on the politicians who lie about the entire enterprise.
This however fails to address the key question, what's the purpose of a politician. Is a politician merely there to give voice to the electorate and if the electorate wishes to be lied to and to engage in folly, what business is it of the politician to do otherwise?

Isn't the politician just a role player, albeit a key one, in the public's effort to deceive itself?

I don't think you need to convince many of us that many if not most American citizens are completely incompetent in their role of "citizen."

When naming the VP becomes a chore which many fail, I think not.

Calderon rocks. The biggest benefit of NAFTA has been pushing pro-business forces into power: Zedillo (an Yale economist no less), Fox, and Calderon. Everyone else in Latin America is turning populist while Mexico is friendly to the US.
