Actually, I was personally being critical of all of Washington, including Bush. But if you'd like to keep knee-jerking about Obama like you've got political Tourettes Syndrome, okay by me. It's fun to watch you get worked up.

Do any of you know what the omnibus spending bill is or what it was for? Anyone? Anyone know how often those come up, or what the last amount was? Anyone? Good grief- you all act as if the omnibus bill was Obama's grand idea and he threw as much pork in it as he could muster. Obama had nothing to do with the original bailout bill which Tex included in his post. That leaves the stimulus bill, which we have already discussed in depth in other threads. It is simple Keynesian economics. Tex wants a bill to be based on "results" and not on "hope." Ok, genius- which economic policy of the US for which we have measurable results during times of deep recessions should we implement to deal with this recession? Hm, how about Keynesian policies?

Of course Obama can do wrong (his flub with Brown was embarrassing), but in your haste to kick dirt on the man, you don't even bother to note that in your own eyes, the man can do nothing right (an amusing irony, given your accusations).
YOu're ignorant if you believe Obama had no impact upon the Omnibus Reconciliation bill. You're also quite condescending to believe because you lived in Washington you know about that shit better than others.

Obama supported those bailout bills, for which Bush goddamnit was the author.

Obama's full of pork, to wit the Stimulus Bill.

The point is, I wasn't singling out Obama, you Obama zealot.

But if you want to parse it like you always do then, sure: I think liberals are to blame for all this spending. Bush was a bonehead to sign off on it (as are the 8 Republicans who voted for Obama's Omnibus bill) and bears his share of the blame, but he's not in charge anymore. It's not him passing pork bill after pork bill afresh.

Are the details of the budget process partisan?

They certainly aren't transparent, as Obama promised many, many, many times.
