I know people like this.

They will not buy guns from gun dealers, because of the background check and paper trail. Only on the used market from private sellers.

No doubt, they also don't donate to RKBA causes, or otherwise lift a finger to preserve their rights, in the public forum and debate. They cowardly seek after their own salvation, the rest of us be damned. As if the gun trade, conducted in the way they do it, is sustainable.

Are you incapable of defending yourself without an assault rifle?

Man, conservatives are soft.

I think IPU will agree with me. When the dust clears, a rope will do just fine.

Yes. And I agree completely with Mike.

Are you capable of living if I own an assault rifle?

Man, liberals are meddling assholes.

Hey- some of us can take care of ourselves without a fully automatic weapon, and some of us can't. You fall in the latter group. No shame. Just find a liberal friend and stay close by them for safety and you will get through this ok.

No, I don't enjoy the company of assholes.

I don't have a problem donating time or money to the NRA or RKBA causes, and my family, not just myself has done so on more than one occasion. But I don't believe everything you own should be broadcast. OTOH, people own weapons like it's a state secret and you want to run from after you see their cache are not ones I wish to be around either. I have no desire to be in the company of somebody with grenade launchers, IEDS or anything inherently dangerous and unmanageable. There are some real weirdos out there as well.

I don't know that we are too far apart, honestly. You simply don't view assault weapons as inherently dangerous and I do. Neither of us view grenade launchers as appropriate or protected by the Constitution. Mike and IPU apparently do, if they hold to their belief that arms which are standard issue to military units are constitutionally protected.
