Some spend more of their time fretting about the exceptions rather than the rules.

Yes, clearly.

When one of these issues comes up, how do you personally determine if it is an exception or a rule.

If you determine it is an exception, do you keep it to yourself. Would you ever to protect the faithful, tell others that counsel should always be followed, even though you yourself may not always feel it is necessary to do so.

If these questions are to personal, I am OK with your not answering.

To my knowledge Tex hasn't ever shown disdain for those who don't agree with him on this issue.

I haven't found myself in the position where I am obligated to tell others whether or not counsel should always be followed, other than with my kids.

Of course, with my kids, we are concentrating on weighty counsel like not fighting, not lying, treating others with respect, service, tithing, prayer and reading scriptures. We haven't crossed the "go settle Iron County" bridge yet.

We are just at different stages of child rearing. You will find when your children get older, get married and have kids, they may ask your advice on weightier matters.

For the record, the term "prophetic infallibility" inaccurately and clumsily describes my belief.

PS. This is not a personal dig at you, 71.

Really? Do you care to cite an instance where you believe the prophet was wrong?

I think President Hinckley was wrong to be optimistic about mankind.

My interaction with you may convince me that you are right.
