President Packer should have taken the time to ponder and pray about what to talk about. If he had, he certainly would have given a shout-out to Coach Boylen and the hoops team at the prophet's alma mater.

Nothing like a good flame war in a thread about the prophet's funeral!

You guys are great.

Monson's talk pretty much blew that counsel out of the water. I think that's ridiculous anyway, to say you shouldn't talk about the person at their funeral.

IMHO, the service was great. I especially liked the elevator and penguin stories.

I will greatly miss the Prophet. He didn't take himself too seriously, but he did take caring for others and the gospel as I understand it seriously.

us to wear colored shirts for the temple endowment? Aren't some things so obviously clear, you don't have to ask?

Yeah, the temple's the same thing as a funeral.

I wore a white shirt to church yesterday. It was a Hanes tagless t-shirt underneath one of those zip-neck sweaters. The missionaries thought I was a visitor since I wasn't wearing a collared shirt or a tie. Nice guys, though.

It's one of the signs of reverence. Or is a fashion statement more important?

Wearing a white shirt is a sign of reverance? How? You are somehow quieter and thinking about God more because you are wearing a white shirt?
