If enough people think there is money in having bowl games outside of a 16 team playoff, knock themselves out. It won't be any less exciting or relevant than the current bowl system is for 20 to 25 of the existing 32 bowl games.

The problem is, next year its going to be Florida v Oklahoma, or somesuch, each with 1 or less losses in the nc game and then the BCS folks will say, 'See, the system worked.' This will subdue the dangerous playoff talk long enough for the BCS conferences to rake in 2 or 3 more seasons of guaranteed millions before everybody gets this mad again.

That seems to be the cycle, anyways.
