So is this smiley  a google-eyed face, or a fat lady's torso? It's like one of those optical illusions, isn't it?

So would you like to see drawings of a 60+ year old exibitionist who likes to let it all hang out and drop to the floor or the 40 something Tim Robins look alike?

We occaisionally hire young aspiring models or art students who like to make $30 bucks an hour for doing what they'd likely do for free if asked -pose nude ... though I can't find any of those drawings

As far as your first paragraph is concerned, you can spare the French Riviera scene, I've already done that.

I just wondered how a Mormon perceived a beautiful naked body as represented by his art.

There's a difference between being nude and being naked ... Adam and Eve sought to hide their nakedness from the Lord in the Garden of Eden.

The human body is the pinacle of creation, beautiful, elegant and inspiring, and a fundamental componant of the soul of a child of God ... that's how this Mormon artist see's the nude body.

So, are you saying that if it's painted on canvas, it's nude and if it's photographed and put in a magazine, it's nakedness?

No, I think the human figure should be studied with the pencil and with camera. Where the two often diverge is in intent ... one medium naturally lends itself to abusive exploitation while the other primarily is a vehicule of study ... though there has been an awful lot of art created by pencil or brush that is equally or even more exploitative than images captured with a camera.

You don't happen to have any drawings of really hot naked chicks you could post, do you? I'm really behind in my studies.

Understood - and I was just funnin' with you.

I have to admit that I've never seen photos of nudidity (as Radar would say) that wasn't considered porn, but I have seen several paintings and sculptures that are considered art. I suppose that's where the intent you mentioned comes into play, eh?

So, why was there such a to do about Rodin's exhibit at BYU a few years ago? Was a decision made that a line didn't want to be crossed? I'm asking in all sincereity, as I don't know the circumstances other than that his work, "The Kiss" (I hope I have the correct sculpture and artist here) was no where to be seen.

Or did I jsut dream that this all happened as a result of my anti-BYU bias?

lol, no, I'll stick with that.

After all, didn't the internet become accessible to the public for the sole purpose of seeing nekkid women?
