Tons of lakes around Dallas actually. I can think of 7 off the top of my head. ANd those are in the metroplex. Go another hour or two out and there are probably 10+ more.
Are they lakes or reservoirs?

Thanks for that info. Didn't know that about the Dallas area.

All man made. I think I heard there is only one natural lake in all of Texas. They are for water supply but also flood control.

I was wondering why the water tasted like Evinrude Outboard Oil!

One of the first things I like to do when visiting Utah is drink the water. Seriously. The water in Texas is not very good. Not as bad as Phoenix water which tastes like nuclear waste, but definitely not like the pristine mountain water I grew up with.

The worst is in the summer when they have some sort of algae bloom on the lakes and the water tastes like dirt. Seriously nasty. We drink filtered water at my house for the most part.

and on top of that, in the summer the "cold" water comes out of the tap at 85-90 degrees.

That was the weirdest thing for me the first time I went boating on a lake here. Jump in the water expecting it to be cold and it's like bath water.

It was a rain/snow mix at RES today. I'm just now starting to warm up.
We had three inches of snow. Kids were making huge snowmen.

Fun times in September, eh?

Just bizarre weather here. This morning, Twin Peaks was covered with snow. By 6:00 PM it was all melted off.
