The least we can do is come up with a name that sounds legit enough to get off of work...you know like Yom Kippur or Hanuka...are those taken?

Wow, FM, you are the first guy I have ever met that is so exquisitely sensitive about the whole pioneer ancestor thing.
If anything we remember the pioneers TOO INFREQUENTLY. We could learn a thing or two from them. I'm thrilled to hear how people sacrificed to be part of this church no matter if it was in 1850 or yesterday. |

My favorite one is when the speaker (usually a HC speaker) tells an inspiring story about a pioneer ... then at the end of the talk, pauses for dramatic effiect and "reveals" that that was there great-great-grandfather or whatever. As if that makes it more inspiring? |

Best advice I heard on giving a church talk or a lesson was to study and prepare NOT to find cute little quotes to use but to understand the topic and come to a deeper testimony or conviction of it. Once you do, you will give the talk with power. |

Talks with power just make those of us with no power feel bad. So it's not a good idea.
