I love Python, but I thought Spam-a-lot sucked. If I hadn't paid so stinkin' much for the tickets I would have left at the rbeak. Seriously bad, and I saw it on Broadway with the original cast. I also did not really care for Wicked, although I guess it was OK. Can't stand Phantom. ABsolutely love Les Miserables (but prefer not to call it Les Miz), and have enjoyed other musicals, such as the County Spelling Bee (the actual title escapes me) which was one of the most amusing productions I have ever seen.

I could hear the people sing the song of angry men during Les Mis. I took a chance during Mamma Mia. I defied gravity during Wicked. I held it during Urinetown. I was just like Marilyn Monroe during Blood Brothers. I ate ham and jam during Spamalot. I was One with A Chorus Line. I had no worries during The Lion King. I gave in to the power of the music of the night during Phantom. I made a Memory during Cats I was over the moon for Rent I was happier than the surrey with the fringe on top during Oklahoma! I hummed the Minuet in G during The Music Man. However... I was not aroused at the end of The Full Monty...so maybe I'm not gay after all.

My senior year in high school, I needed an art credit, so I joined the Orchestra.
So I was in the orchestra playing "South Pacific" while the drama class did all the stuff up front. Didn't get to see it, but got to listen to it through the curtain. |

I also love how so many LDS people love Grease and seem completely oblivious to the fact that the entire play/musical is about teens trying to have sex. It was American Pie before American Pie and in no way is appropriate for little kids....yet I see it as a staple for LDS DVD collections. I get that if you have only seen the movie and not the play, there will be some obvious things you will not catch....but sheesh....do people even listen to the lyrics of Greased Lightening when they are singing it? Summer Loving? Favorite line from the movie: Rizzo to Danny: where you going? To flog your log? Danny: Well, it's better than hanging around with you dorks. We saw Grease in the movies and I think I was about 6 or 7 when we went. To this day, I still remember that "funny" feeling I got in the final scene where Olivia Newton John finally gets all slutted up, basically offering herself up as a sexual sacrifice....she was wearing some crazy skin tight black shiny pants.....the camera shot is still part of cinema history and easily the most memorable pan of the entire movie.......from the ground up, we first see her in her red heels, then her legs in tight black, then her hips/waist....AHH!!!!!! my life was never the same afterwards.

I also washed that man right out of my hair during South Pacific. I think I have seen about 100 plays in my lifetime, maybe more. My wife loves them. So do I.
