I saw on the news that she had requested to be allowed to give a speech last night, and they said no. Then she requested to at least be allowed to introduce him, and they said no. They conceded enough to agree to let her stand on stage during his speech, but said that she had to stand off to the side.

Just for a quick sanity check: you all do realize that nearly all losing presidential campaigns experience some finger-pointing in their wake, right?

Palin wanting to speak after a losing election is a little strange. It kind of makes it look like to her it's all about herself.

I take a little more charitable view: chalk it up to a desire to want to soothe the wounded.

I didn't check which vote is so close, but I can only assume its the district that includes Omaha and its suburbs. Its a decent sized city with a large AA community. It is also the home of one of Obama's most trusted financial advisors, who is very much respected by nearly everyone in town. I would have been surprised if it didn't go to Obama.

Sitting US President is anathema and is asked to stay far away. Current VP candidate is not trusted to speak to the media or the public, even AFTER the election has been lost. Sounds like a solid campaign. Shocker that it didnt win.

- Regarding Nebraska, Hagel had all but endorsed Obama, and his wife did endorse Obama. This greatly helped his performance in the state. |
