I heard last night that Palin has the lowest poll numbers of any VP candidate in the 38 years that they have been doing VP-based polls.

Shocking goings on in the media.

Next thing we know Hannity will start blasting someone from the left.

She's the worst choice since Ross Perot picked that retired admiral.

Yeah, but Perot could have picked Bobo the Chimp and nobody would have cared since Perot never really had a shot. McCain's pick is far more troubling, but it doesn't seem that it will matter much now.

totally beside the point. You want to take a shot at my constitutional argument while Tex searches his copy in disbelief trying to find something else about the VP?

This is all the Constitution says about the duties of the vice president:

Article 1, section 3
The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no vote, unless they be equally divided.

Amendment XXV
Section 1. In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President.
What expanded powers?

Do you think "working with the Senate and making sure that we are supportive of the president's policies" and "really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes" count as "expanded" powers?

Last I checked, every VP in the history of the country has "really gotten in there" to work with senators for policy changes.

"expanded powers" was Palin's language. So you're asking the same question I am. I'd like to know what she means. I don't care if she hangs out in the senate, but sitting down to form policy is not in her job description. Of course Cheney did a lot more than that, but that's another discussion.

You're right, whether a media member is liberal or conservative and bashes who they're going after is completely beside the point.

Contrary to what others think the Matthews, Hannitys and Rushs of the world do not have agendas.

I mean since it rarely happens and all....

None of the quotes provided so far show her using that term. If you're going to come here and attack what she said, provide the quote.

As to forming policy, who says a VP doesn't help form policy? You?

Is this a joke? The constitution doesn't say anything about the VP forming policy.
