because they are so naive. They're willing to vote for someone they know nothing about, just because he says he's so great and moral.
These same people...how do you think they would feel about Joseph Smith's polygamy if they knew the known historical details? |

And how naive are a lot of Trump voters? There are lots of comments around the internet these days about how great things are going to be in a few months. Judging from those comments, lots of unemployed or underemployed folks think they'll suddenly magically be in line for a great job after Trump has a couple of months to change the world. It's not going to happen. In fact, they should really be hoping that Trump can't implement the dopiest of his ideas like shutting down global trade, because that would make things a lot worse for those who can afford it the least. Now if all he does is tinker with tax rates or remove some federal regulations, then yes, it might marginally improve.

many voters from all stripes are naive.
But what I find is that McMullin supporters liked to think of themselves as the very most thoughtful, moral, and ethical voters. Without knowing a darn thing about the guy. |

I hate Sanders. He's Trump plus socialism. The absolute worst. Saying you're a good kind of socialist, not like Stalin or Hitler or Lenin, is like saying you're a good kind of fascist or KKK. In this age anyone calling themselves a socialist hasn't a cracked history book, is addled, or just plain amorally ambitious and preying on ignorant masses.

There are a lot of barriers to Trump accomplishing most of his ludicrous and mean campaign promises; or maybe more precisely, realizing liberals' worst fears from inferences they make from his casual or perhaps calculated statements while campaigning. We've been erecting institutional walls against totalitarian takeover for over 200 years, including division of power.
The easiest way for him to screw up this country is to start trade wars and leave our Pacific Rim allies and trading partners with no choice but to ally with China and damage our economy on account of a few hundred thousand jobs that are doomed anyway in the long term. I'm counting on the Republican Congress to stand in his way. I'm afraid this is one area where he is more aligned with the Democrats, who have generally favored protectionism as they do more often favor other regulations on business. The Democrats' rhetoric on trade and capitalism has always been horrifying, during the campaigns, but until now nobody executed on it.

Another socialist. Did you see all the new programs she promised, including free tuition for all and free healthcare for all?
SU doesn't want to admit that he is a closet socialist.
