the Traveling Wiburys...
When I was a bit younger, I became fascinated by the band 'The Traveling Wilburys.' The rumor was that these guys were all under contracts with their various recording companies, but they joined and formed this band under fake names so that they could get their own brand of music out.
The band was made up of: Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Jeff Lynne. Anyway, their music is being put on an anniversary album as well as a dvd for some video of them singing together. If you haven't heard them before together, it is a light rather funny style of music: http://www.usatoday.com/life/music/n...terstitialskip |

They had some fun music. Hard to believe it's been almost 20 years when I first heard them.

Had that on tape, when was it, 1989 or so? Anyway, great album. Everytime I see a commercial for Knocked Up, I wish I still had it.

Heard someone make the comment once that you know you have a really ugly group of guys in a band when Tom Petty is the best looking one in the bunch. |
