in that the discussion with cyclists, especially competitive racers, frequently turns on weight, bragging about how little one weighs. Has anybody else experienced or witnessed this phenomenum?

not yet, but I'm sure when I join a club I'll start hearing more about it. that's really weird that men will talk about how light they are. just another testament to what a different world cycling is. strechy pants, shaved body and obsession with being light.
