You bike, have your run gear set up before at the end of your bike, jump into running shoes and run as hard as you can. You try to make the runs too long to avoid injury, but you simulate fatigue experienced during a triathlon. We also call these transition runs. I try to have two per week.

They help tire one out. Running after long bikes are harder than they seem, at least for me.

Gotcha. I've never heard that term before.

So which race is it that you're preparing for? Is it a certain little race up in Northern Idaho that you also did last year?

I've got a little race in April, one in July, maybe one in October and one in November, together with some bike racing and a few run races.

bigpiney and I, if it works out, might also try the BYU Eco Challenge. I don't have a mountain bike though.

Barbara no likey brick. I'm doing one a week.

Hey, Archea, you mention your runs and your rides quite a bit. How often do you swim?

Swimming is my background so only twice a week unless I'm doing an ironman then three to four with long swims.
