You forgot the part where they say, "And it looks like our time is up for today."

Clearly, telling time is also a key to the profession.

And Mike, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there more to psychotherapy than simply replying "And how did that make you feel?" to everything the patient says? I could do that.
I agree with you for the most part, but I thought her acting was better in the episode where she was raped. One of the more memorable episodes for me.

I'm trying to imagine Mike saying "And how does that make you feel" at regular intervals during a therapy session, and I can't.

Default librarians, bartenders, and shrinks

I don't know how many shrinks do psychotherapy...
I thought they mostly handled case-management and then let social workers or psychologists do the "how does that make you feel" counseling.

Weirdly enough, I've found the library reference desk serves as an impromptu counseling center. Odd. They didn't tell us about that in library school. If I'd wanted to be an underqualified counselor, I think I would have become a bartender...

The best part of the dinner was when Bracco talked about practicing her lines with her mother. Her mother would read Tony Soprano's lines. "Must he use such languange?" "f that" "what the f" "mother f-ing" etc.

10 tickets were provided for trainees and their guests, gratis, by one of the major philanthropists. And 4 were unused. I guess you can't get residents and fellows to go even for free.

It is truly a test of my willpower not to respond to that comment.

LOL, yes, perhaps Mike could learn something from Dr. Melfi after all.

I could see him saying "what the hell is wrong with you" at regular intervals.
