Now we get to wait and see if Collinsworth is kept on or not
In his favor is that he is dirt cheap and Mavs like most teams are budget-crunched. Also in his favor is that he is a 3-and-D guy potentially. Except right now he is no3-and-D. He has to be better at shooting the 3. But he's definitely a guy who can switch on defense and that's important.
However the addition of Jalen Brunson may mean that there is no roster spot for Collinsworth. Dennis Smith, Yogi Ferrell, JJ Barea, Jalen Brunson. AND Kyle? Tough hill to climb. |

Collinsworth is guaranteed 100k if he is not cut before July 5 (tomorrow). Maybe that bodes well for him being kept on for a while? 100k is like a a single snowflake in the NBA gold horde. |

dallas morning news says that Collinsworth contract will be revoked, but that he will likely be signed to another contract so that he can be in training camp.
