We are a sick society, but everyboyd knew that
We have a President who campaigns for and receives a noted Peace Prize for doing nothing.
His campaign to ravage health insurance is determined to increase coverage while "reducing" costs to save us money. Oh by the way, the cost of saving money is One Trillion Dollars, which we don't have. We continue "stimulus" packages which drive up our deficit but our President will save us money. We continue massive stimuli but employment doesn't improve, so the President engages in funky accounting to claim having "saved" jobs. Perhaps we can all attend a revival? And now the great case of our generations during the greatest Economic Depression is about the meaning of a word, union over marriage. Joy. We lived in depressed times to be certain.

Think of how WWII pulled the US out of the Great Depression. Given that knowledge, I can't help but wonder what the response will be to the next attack on US soil?

In and prior to WWII, the US economy was young and vibrant, the society was not unaccustomed to want and many perished. Economically, WWII saw many of our chief economic rivals, Britain, Germany, France and Japan have industries ravaged and devastated by war. We were the only virtually untouched industrial giant. WWII analogies don't provide me much solace any more.
