The Katami Twinkie
http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/01/11/...ony/index.html
My problem with high profile cases built upon emotion and public sentiment is the bad legal logic used to justify a locally popular sentiment. The case's legal logic is squishy and representative of horrible legal reasoning. But that's okay, what would get you an F in law school scores well if it achieves the desired result. WTF. Society is about convenience and the bully pulpit, not about sound reasoning and calm discussion. I've always known this but the OJ case and the Katami Twinkie are indicative of the bad quality of our public entertainment and discourse.
