A tip o' the hat
to our brothers and sisters in the Armed Forces, as well as our many veterans, both living and deceased.
I'm grateful for their sacrifice. I marvel at the courage of men landing in the surf off of France, to the sound of incessant machine gun fire and screaming and death. Each step forward was a step in faith. And many did not return. They did not marry, they did not have children, they have no posterity to tell their stories of courage. Let us do our part in not discarding our liberties cheaply, for a bowl of pottage and the false security that evil men and women offer us. We live in an age where it is not war that will take away our liberties--it is fear that will do it. No doubt, it will take men and women acting with courage, stepping down the plank into the bloody surf, to ensure that our future will be free. |

Well said, Mike.
