Default For the record, AWs

i don't have one and have never really wished to pay the tax to own one, but if I wanted one, I would like that right.

I am qualified to operate them though, and even my sisters are, even though they probably own no weapons.

I hate the term conjured by the Calis "assault weapons" in the first instance, as I believe the proper terminology is automatic or semi-automoatic weapons.

I think you are mixing up terminology here.

The tax stamp is for machine guns, i.e. fully-auto. I believe it is $200. The main problem there is the limited supply, making the guns outrageously expensive.

There is an excise tax on complete rifles. But it is not too bad. And can be avoided in guns like the AR, where you can buy them in halves or pieces.

For the history of the phrase "assault weapon", see the wiki entry:

Do yourself a favor. Lose the sissy stone beard and get yourself a black rifle.

It is your duty as a citizen.

Exactly.

Some here don't get it. These are they who are anti-2nd Amendment.

I may or may not have weapons, but whatever i may or may not possess is not for public discussion. I don't have an "assault weapon," and I' don't have a machine gun, too expensive in the day of the Grand Depression. I wonder what people in the 30s will refer to our current Grand Depression.

*except Archaea, who doesn't have a rifle.

At this rate, we may be more likely to march on Jackson County in my lifetime than win a NCAA tourney game.

If a person owned things, and a government wished to take them away, the first thing he should do is to disclose ownership.
